Our Story
Fixrn started from a simple, frustrating experience: a burst pipe at 11 p.m. and no clear way to find someone who could actually show up that night. Directories were bloated with outdated listings, review sites buried the plumbers who were actually available, and every "request a quote" form seemed to disappear into a black hole.
We built Fixrn to close that gap — a straightforward way to reach a real, available plumber or HVAC technician when something breaks at the worst possible time, in the city where you actually live.
How It Works
Tell us what's wrong
Pick your service — plumbing or HVAC — and your city. No account, no long form.
We connect you directly
You're routed to a local pro who handles your kind of emergency, by phone.
Get it fixed
Talk through the problem, get a straight answer on timing and cost, and get someone on the way.
Service Coverage
Fixrn covers emergency plumbing and HVAC needs across an expanding list of U.S. cities and states. Each local page reflects the specific pros and response patterns for that market — we don't show you a national call center pretending to be local.
How We Research and Write Our Guides
Every guide on Fixrn is researched against real, citable sources — manufacturer guidance (Carrier, Trane, Bryant, and similar), established insurers, and recognized safety organizations like the American Red Cross. Each article links directly to the sources it draws from, so you can check them yourself rather than take our word for it.
We write every guide to say plainly what it can't tell you — every article has a section on this specifically — because a general article genuinely can't diagnose your exact system or confirm your specific policy coverage, and pretending otherwise wouldn't help you.
Content gets updated as the underlying guidance changes, not on a fixed schedule; each guide shows when it was last reviewed. One thing we want to be upfront about: our guides aren't currently signed off by a named licensed plumber or HVAC technician as a credentialed reviewer. If that changes, we'll say so here and on the guides themselves — we'd rather tell you plainly than claim a review process that doesn't exist.
Corrections or something that looks wrong? Email legal@fixrn.com and we'll look into it.
A Note on Quality
Fixrn is a directory and connection service, not a plumbing or HVAC company itself. We work to feature responsive, appropriately licensed professionals, but every contractor is an independent business responsible for their own work, pricing, and licensing. Always confirm licensing and get a clear price before work begins.
